Rethinking HPS in the Age of AI
The History and Philosophy of Science faces an epistemological and disciplinary turning point, caught between its classical focus on "science" and a broader, diffuse category of "knowledge." This talk will interrogate this tension, arguing for a renewed conceptual clarity and normative ambition. It explores contemporary epistemological transformations, exemplified—but not exhausted—by current developments in Artificial Intelligence. Ultimately, it suggests pathways toward a reinvigorated disciplinary identity for HPS.
